About Makery

Hi, I'm Max - a solo product designer helping SaaS teams design smarter, ship faster, and build more user-friendly products — without hiring full-time. Makery is my design platform which is a mix of best things that I collected by working for years with companies, startups, agencies, studios, making and launching my own projects.

I work with startups, founders, and small product teams to improve user experience, simplify onboarding, and build design systems that scale. Most of my work is async, feedback-friendly, and structured to deliver updates every 2–3 days (or faster).

With a background in UX and interaction design, I help remote teams clarify structure, reduce friction, and build consistent, component-driven interfaces. I care about clear flows, strong patterns, and fast feedback cycles that don’t rely on meetings.

I enjoy collaborating across time zones, communicating clearly, and making sure every screen has purpose and polish.

If you're looking for a trusted partner to support your product design — from UX audits to UI systems — let's talk. I’ll start with a small UX review or one-week sprint so we can move quickly and build trust from day one.

My Design Process

How I run design projects remotely and designing with clarity across time zones.

I design for SaaS and product teams in async-first environments, where speed, clarity, and structured collaboration are essential. I provide project updates every 2–3 days (or faster when needed) so teams always know what’s happening — no micromanagement or daily syncs required.

My Remote Collaboration Stack

  • Figma – collaborative files, structured components, and clean version control
  • CleanShot – quick screen recordings to explain flows, design decisions, and updates
  • Slack + Trello – async communication, task management, and feedback loops
  • Heuristic Analysis – used at the start of projects to identify usability issues and guide early design decisions

How I Communicate

  • I send CleanShot videos to walk through designs and rationale without needing a meeting
  • I maintain organized Figma files with comments, versioning, and named iterations
  • Trello boards reflect live progress, feedback status, and upcoming priorities
  • I deliver concise updates every 2–3 days, or faster during active sprints and deadlines

Real-World Examples

"Created structured Figma handoff files with specs, organized layers, and embedded CleanShot recordings."
"Delivered UX/UI updates on a fast-moving project with a remote product team worldwide."
"Identified key usability blockers in an onboarding flow through heuristic analysis and redesigned the flow within 48 hours."

What You Can Expect From Me

  • Fast, transparent updates and clear design direction.
  • Efficient async collaboration using tools your team already uses.
  • Process-focused thinking without over-documentation.
  • Actionable design that balances speed, usability, and business goals.

Design Philosophy

Good design should feel invisible, but intentional.

  • Simplicity that doesn’t sacrifice usability: I believe the best designs are clean and intuitive, but never at the expense of functionality. Every element must serve a clear purpose.
  • Clear communication and documentation over excessive meetings: Especially in remote and async environments, well-structured documentation and transparent updates keep everyone aligned without draining time.
  • Consistency through systems, not templates: I focus on building flexible design systems that empower teams to move quickly while maintaining visual and functional consistency across the product.
  • Good design doesn’t need to be explained — but it helps if it is: I strive to create interfaces that feel natural to use, but I also make sure my design decisions are clearly documented to foster shared understanding.
  • User empathy drives everything: Understanding real user pain points and workflows guides my design choices, ensuring solutions are relevant and impactful.
  • Iterate fast, learn fast: I embrace an iterative mindset—launching early and refining based on feedback and data, especially in fast-paced SaaS environments.

Who I Work With

I partner best with early- to mid-stage SaaS companies and remote-first product teams that prioritize clear communication, rapid iteration, and thoughtful design systems. These teams value independence, asynchronous collaboration, and transparent progress updates that keep everyone aligned without constant meetings.

I am interested in opportunities where I can contribute as a contract designer, freelancer, or fractional product design lead—helping teams clarify UX challenges, accelerate delivery, and build scalable design foundations. If your team thrives on autonomy, values design as a strategic asset, and embraces fast-paced product development cycles, I’d love to connect.
